Randy Pausch Robotics Center

The inaugural session of "Randy Pausch Robotics Center"(RPRC) was held on 6th January 2012 (Friday). Dr.P.V.Manivannan, IIITM, Chennai and Dr.Madhavakrishna, IIIT Hyd, were guest of honor for inaugural ceremony. A course work on “Mobile Robotics” has been started for RPRC. The objective is to promote the research activity, create enthusiasm and awareness about the Robotics course among the student community of BVRIT. The online course started from 20th January, 2012.  The course work is conducted by BVRIT ECE alumni Mr.K.NagaSrikanth from ATR lab Japan and Mr. Karthik Puvada from Vanderbilt University, USA. 

Major Hardware & Software
HP Computers, 15 Micro Sticks, 2 Web cameras, 2 MsKinect Sensors, 2 Humanoid Robots

Activities

  • In 2012-13, 5 Projects are in Progress and 2 were completed
  • 6 Internal Mentors and 4 External mentors are guiding these projects Training Program
  • A 2-Day Lecture Session on “Mobile Robotics” by Dr.P.V.Manivannan, IIT, Chennai and Dr.K.Madhava Krishna, IIIIT-Hyderabad.
  • 12 weeks Course on “Robotics” by resource persons Mr.Sridhar, Research Scientist & Mr.Karthik Puvvada, Master Student of Vanderbilt University, USA as well as Mrs.Pavana Sirisha, PhD Student, Tennessee State University, USA and Mr.Nagasrikanth Kallakuri, Research Engineer, ATR, JAPAN.
